Dear all,

I'm looking for a Turkish blend similar to camel, or at least in the same line.

I've placed an order on a European website and it's came.
I have:
500g Virginia Gold Lemon
500g Oriental gold
500g Burley gold.

Does anyone have a percentage or ratio so i can make something similar to camel yellow?

I know casings are applied but i was hoping for something similar without using casings.

Also, should i toast the Burley?

Enter "Camel" in the search field and several threads and posts will pull up. The threads will have the word "Camel" in the thread title. The others will be posts that mention Camel cigarettes in a discussion, but may contain useful content. Most, if not all, commercial cigarettes contain flavorings that make the cigarette distinctly "Marlboro", "Camel, etc. Many members start with flue cured, burley, and 5-15% turkish (oriental) and experiment from there. My personal blend contains five varieties:
45% flue cured Virginia
20% burley
20% Maryland
5% dark air
10% oriental

Play around and have fun. Flue cure Virginia bites you in the tongue, burley hits you in the throat. You can blend the two together for a neutral balance and add oriental for flavor. I actually like a little bit of a throat hit but everybody is a little different. With the three choices you have to work with, try 60% virginia, 30% burley, 10% oriental. Adjust the balance between tongue bite, throat hit or neutral with the virginia and burley. Adjust the floral flavor of oriental to suit your taste, while maintaining your preferred balance.

The ratio changes the flavor a lot. It’s trial an error mostly. I’d start 50% Virginia and 25 burly 25 oriental then just add more or less of each. I like using a scale and do 2 grams to a time, enough for two smokes or so. Always keeping a jar of the leftovers, make one don’t like it just put the other bit in the jar. You’ll get a good blend and can then make a whole jar on that ratio

I see this is an old post, but nevertheless, I've been looking for that flavour.

I have been testing and the best balance (with my limitations) that I've found is:

50% Virginia gold
20% Burley
20% Oriental samsoun
10% Virginia orange

I found that less virginia gold and more of the others made it too strong. More virginia gold made it too sweet. More burley became a bit too dry of an after taste. I think I still miss a bit in the combination but I can't do half grams so I test 10 grams at a time.

I made one with prilep it was a long time ago. I don't care for much in turkish but I could smoke it. I think it was about 30% virginia. prilep and Izmur I think. It's been a while though. It was from some of the samples that Don sent when I wanted to know what it tasted like

well I just had a revelation... I had bought some Mascotte tubes I had not tested with (and did not realize they were different). Turns out these ones have a shorter filter that make a HUGE difference. All the sudden my mix leaves a super dry mouth taste behind with the same mix, plus it feels stronger (less filter I guess). Everything matters I suppose. Funny enough the longer filter I had to squeeze/stretch the ciggie a bit so it was not so "tight", with the shorter filter that's not needed but it tastes way stronger. Oh well, I guess it is all about finding your balance.
