We know that Virginias have a high sugar content. That said are there any methods that might increase the sugar content? Perhaps certain nutrients, soil amendments etc?

As with the traditional cultivation of Oriental tobacco varieties, not topping (allowing the plants to blossom) will increase the sugar content, though it decreases the leaf productivity per plant.
