Here is eCFR Title 7 Part 30, the Code of Federal Regulations on tobacco grown in the United States:


This may help answer some questions on what are considered "types" of tobacco based on a variety of different agricultural and processing factors.

I didn't see this posted here before, so I apologize if this is redundant, it has helped me understand some tobacco terminology. I would love to find an in-depth document on grading in the US if anyone has one, it does seem to be industry-specific/guarded to some degree though.

I hope that this is useful to all who are interested!

I found the USDA grading system document for flue-cured as well.

Very interesting info, in my opinion.
