Crumbs into cavendish?

As I am kilning my homegrown tobacco (currently on the second batch of the season with two more to go after this one) I’ve been collecting all the bits of leaves that can’t be tied into hands. Crumbs and such. It’s a sizable amount at this point and will only increase with the next two batches.

Will this make good cavendish?

I’ve successfully made cavendish before using Maryland. Turned into a great pipe blending component.

If it would not make good cavendish then is there a way to ferment this stuff? I wondered if perhaps some kind of bag would work. Maybe suspend it in the kiln and stir it every day?

Anyone have any experience with this?

Cooking the crumbs into Cavendish will make a nice pipe-blending component, even if the varieties are all mixed.

Is fermenting them impossible?

If you want to kiln them, then just toss them into an open plastic bag or jar, and kiln them as you would whole leaf. If the temp stays above 122°F, then vegetative growth of mold will not occur. (Kiln temps do not kill mold spores, so store the kilned leaf in low case or dry.)

I made some cavindish along time ago and saved about an ounce, I broke it out the other day and rolled a couple smokes, it was pretty smooth.

How did u include it? Was it shredded or did u store the cavendish in a more whole leaf form and were able to take out a whole leaf and fold it into the filler?
