Primary planting is done. 11 grow out varieties went in today. All replacements should be done next week.14004585614381.jpg14004585848132.jpg

My backup trays got really leggy and yellow competing for light so they are trimmed without mercy and soaked with F2G, hopefully they recover well this week.14004585429100.jpg

Found some new fertilizer going to put down this weekend. 15.5.10, with trace minerals including Mg, and boo urea or chlorine.

The big patch has really come around the last few days. Still a bit yellow so they got a good fertilizing. Also got the backups planted out; had enough to replace all the lost pants except 4 of the African Red. Losses were much less than expected. :)

Will you be doing a grow out on the African Red? I'd be interested in some seed.
All varieties will have seed collected. Done.

I hope to reduce my number of varieties next year. Hoping this big grow let's me pick some favorites to stick with, then limit myself to a few experimental varieties each year after.

Your plants have made a great come back. They look very good and strong. Was this your first time fertilizing sense transplanting, or is this a second time? I put some fertilizer down before I planted and I am thinking about side dressing with some more when they are about a month old. What do you think?

Timing sounds about right Ricky. This was my first Real fertilizer in the big patch. Watch the leaves,if color is good, I leave them alone.

You and I seem to have the same way of thinking. I will always like to try growing something new but I'm hoping I can find some favs to be my mainstay crop. So far, I think Delgold will be one of them.
