I loved the Gold Burley last year...... Much like my favorite burley, YTB, but not a bug magnet...... Growing it again this year.

Bamboo Shoot is new for me this year in my search for a great FC Variety. ( thanks Gregfinney for the seed).

The Gold Burley, did it suck up the nutrients out of the soil quicker and turn yellow when in the trays?
None of my other plants went yellow and I give them all some fertilizer in the trays but the Gold burley went yellow.
Did you see this before?
My Bamboo Shoot is from Greg Also. Im Curious to see how it flue cures, He Loves the stuff.

Ytb and gold burley both have tended toward yellow for me at a premature age. Even yellow they keep growing and are soooo easy to cure. Good point you make, maybe I will "shock feed" them this year, see if I can keep them green until flowering. I like them both but they seem to cure thinner than I think they should, maybe extra ferts is the answer.

Gold Burley does not yellow in the trays unless I forget to fed them (1Tbsp each miracle grow and Epsom salt per 5 gal of water.

Got the home patches tilled today, and split a bunch of wood. Hopefully have a tractor coming to till the big patch next weekend.

I don't normally do mid week pics, but the difference in just 4 days since their last scalping is just crazy. L leaf thickness and color are super, with all the sun on the greenhouse this week.

Small dead bugs on a few leaves seems to indicate the Admire is already doing it's job.

Was supposed to be last weekend. Daughter killed engine in her car, so last week was spent fixing it. As if I didn't have enough to do.

Weed cloth will go on the big patch, but not the small one at the house. Orientals at traditional close spacing would be a lot of holes to cut in the cloth.

Screw Weeds, I get lots. I am using newspaper and straw in the garden this yr:
Cheap and easy if you got weeds.
