Hello everybody I am experienced with growing plants but this is my first go with tobacco. I have 4 types started and I plan to move them outside as soon as the weather permits. Probably a few more weeks to go inside. I am in Oklahoma.
The 4 types I am growing are Virginia gold, Kentucky Burley, black sea samsun and another Burley type from Louisiana (the one used in making perique)
They are currently in a 3x3 grow tent under a 150watt full spectrum LED.
I germinated the seeds in late January so here is where we are now

What plant is which variety?
The lower ones seem bigger, is it true, why?
Do they get more light or is it genetics or something else?

It's genetics yes. The lower larger 4 are the Virginia gold. The smaller 4 are Burleys and the thin leaf 1 is the Turkish

Here are the plants today. They are being bottom watered currently. I use miracle grow as the nutrients

4 Virginia gold


4 Burley. The 2 on the left are Kentucky and the 2 on the right are saint perish Louisiana

Black sea samsun (Turkish)

They have been growing faster than I expected. I would have waited a couple weeks to sprout them if I knew they would be growing this fast. When I move them outside they will be going into 7 gallon pots

I do use Epsom salt. I have not used it on these just yet

I have had magnesium deficiency in other plants that it corrects really effectively. Epsom salts won't do anything above providing magnesium to the soil

I have never had calcium or magnesium deficiency in any plant.
One time I was living on the country side with a private well and my peace lily hated all the minerals in the water.
I have been thinking about this quite some time and I think magnesium and calcium deficiency has to do with the water and if the nutrients and soil fits to the water you have locally.
The tap water here is fine for all my plants.

It's crazy how sticky and oily these plants are

Put them into the 7 gallon pots today. Now they will be moved outside during nice days and inside at night and during any cold weather we may have left. They should be outside full-time by this time next month

Yesterday was cold and rainy. Today is the opposite

Not much going on. Been keeping them inside due to very high winds this last week.

The Turkish is trying to flower though. I wasn't expecting that.
