It’s been an interesting week. The USPS has lost my order from WLT. Yea. Hopefully they will find it by the weekend as I’ve been looking forward to wrapping my first cigars.
On a a happier note, the seedlings I planted last weekend seem to be doing great so far. These are in my shade beds destined to be this years wrappers (hopefully). Also put out the rest of the seedlings under my arbor to start hardening off for planting this weekend.

Yep, spring comes early here in Central Texas. It's been in the mid 70's (F) for two weeks now. We usually get a late frost around Easter, but by that time the ground is so warm its usually not a problem. My experience has been to get annuals in the ground by March, and harvest around August, as not much survives the 110F+ heat of mid summer.

The spring weather roller-coaster has begun in earnest this week. Friday high of 75F and sunny, Saturday was 95F and sunny (33% humidity), and Sunday was 60F and cloudy & windy. One of my Little Dutch did not survive the ride - fried to a crisp. Thankfully, I have extras so it only took me a minute to replace it.
Being bored, I decided to experiment some with the scraps I've collected from rolling my first batch of cigars. I've been saving any scraps that were too small / wet / dry to be immediately rolled into the cigar in a mason jar and kept it in the fridge. So Friday night I got the pressure cooker out and divided my stash into two small jars, added a few whole leaves to increase the volume, and mixed different spices etc into each jar. Set the timer for 3 hours and went to bed. Saturday was a perfect day to dry it out in the sun - took a whole 20 minutes LOL. They smell great. I plan on using small amounts to increase the flavor profile of my cigars. I think I might press them into a cake for a week to help marry all the flavors.

i'd say that for your area. and the size of your plants.. your right on schedule of having a '' on time grow '' my plants are the same size.. and I delivered fertilizer to a legit tobacco farm in southern Georgia, in febuary. and in their greenhouse their seeds were the same size as mine was...

It’s been a fairly good week so far on the Farmer’s homestead. I had to replace 5 seedlings due to dogs or variant weather. Going from 60F to 95F in one day can be hard on tender plants. Plus the Labrador’s Pee is pretty toxic LOL! Here’s a few pix.

Everything looks great green. I too am in the south and yes summer is creeping in quick. I'm not growing this year so it is a treat to see others being successful.
