Yes, it appears the last program update changed a few settings and created a couple of errors. Unfortunately, some of our member's posts have been lost.

Ok, well that doesn't matter to much to me, it appears most if not all that I had put in my grow blog is there, so anyway,
I now have more tobacco then I know what to do with, ;) So I am happy, We have had a couple of frosts, which came a little earlier then usual, just a few weeks ago, it did cause most of the plants to start turning yellow, so I cut them, some plants it didn't effect much, there are some that got planted real late, in early August, these were from some maryland 409, they are big now, the frost didn't hurt them, they just recently flowered, and I am pretty sure, hoping, I will get some seed.
I was kind of surprised, many of the Bursa that I cut, well I had been priming them regularly as the biggest leaves started turning yellow, also after I got a lot of seed from a couple of the biggest plants, I had been topping them all, and cutting most of the suckers, so I did get a lot of really big leaves, I also had been continuing watering them, well then there as a lot of grasshoppers, they became a problem, seemed like they would destroy everything, but finally with the colder weather, that slowed them down,...now also we got several weeks of really damp weather, not that much rain really, but very humid, heavy dew in the mornings, cool,..now it has been pretty warm this week,..the amazing thing, many of the plants that I cut, close to the ground, have started growing like crazy, in just a week, they are producing nice, medium sized leaves, that get bigger every day,..so I am still getting even more tobacco, or will have more,..It seems like probable they are not going to die, if it gets really cold, later this month, they may start turning yellow and brown, the leaves, but it never gets cold long enough here to freeze the ground, it might freeze at night , but in the day it warms up, the ground, never freezes,.. I am beginning to think if I keep it moist, later in late January, when it really starts getting warm, I am still going to have quite a few plants, I still plan on starting more, but a little later, then I did this year, and probably in a different area, Anyway, that is pretty much why I have not been around, after work, til dark I was in the garden, cutting leaves that were ready, watering, trying to chase the grasshoppers away, then after dark, stringing leaves on a wire, to hang, checking the ones in the bathroom, which is now packed full, I needed to keep checking so that it if it was to damp,.or humid, so no mold started,..Well now it gets dark so early, and I really don't need to spend any time watering, just the few plants that still maturing, and it is cool enough the ground stays damp for several days,. The tobacco, entire plants that I cut, well since they can not fit into the bathroom (shower room), I have them hanging in bundles, out side, but a semi shady area, I have put large clear, plastic bags with holes over them, so they don't dry to a crisp to fast, but that almost seems like maybe I don't need that, anyway they seem to be curing just fine, the color is changing nicely, It is kind of hard to explain everything, in just words, I hope to get some photos, too, to help explain. In a nutshell, tobacco really is a amazing plant, it seems like I am becoming obsessed with it, not just for smoking it, but working with the plants, experimenting ,etc. I had one plant, that the sheep stepped on and broke the stalk, it as just starting to get the top flower buds, the bottom had some pretty big leaves, well I cut the top off,and took all the big leaves, basically stripped the entire stalk, just leaving some of the small leaves near the tip, dug a hole, and put the stalk in the ground, about 2.5 feet , just the tip with the smaller leaves, minus the flower bud, kept it well watered,..well it took a while, but the tip produced 2 main stems, that now are producing some of the biggest leaves ,..it is still growing,.. and there are more plants coming up all around it, I guess they are just suckers, but they are producing pretty good size leaves so I am letting them keep growing.
Thank you all for the warm welcome, guess I am going to browse around now a lttle,..take care and hope everyone has a Merry Christmas or happy holidays,..

The bursa sure grew well, but I am finding that after a while, it gets kind of "old", I need to work on getting some other varieties too, I have a fair amount of rustica, too now, and some of it is starting to smoke quite well, strong, but burns well, at first I was mixing it with the bursa, but now I keep it separate, when I get tired of the bursa, I roll one with the rustica, and really enjoy that, in fact now that I mention that, I am going to do that before I go to bed, roll up a smoke, pure rustica,...the Maryland 409, I still have not really tried, I don't have any cured yet, I am anxiously waiting for some called "Chilean" it is drying/curing, probably by the end of the month, or early January it will be ready, ...I can see now, it may take a couple of more years, but eventually I will have a good supply of various tobaccos, and when I get tired of one, smoke the other for awhile, and also work on some blends,
Guess I best get some sleep now,..
Oh one last thought, or comment, with the rustica, I did get a second planting, using the seed from my first planting, the plants from those seeds, did a lot better then the first ones, it appears, or my hopes, they will get "used" to the conditions, and the 3rd generation will be even better ,hardier,.. A guy near here, but totally different climate, the coast, sent me about half lb, of rustica from his area, it was all small leaves, well any way, in that tobacco there were some seed buds as well, I planted some in a huge flower pot, they thrived, but all small leaves, ..so I actually have 2 varieties of rustica, one seems to produce bigger leaves, considerably bigger, the other smaller leaves, but it thrives, like alfalfa in a way, the flavor is good, and it is fairly strong, not as strong as the bigger leaf ones, but also even the stems, break up, or shred nicely, a large area could be seeded, and lots of little plants, with small leaves, but the entire plant can be smoked,...neither of the rustica do very well if they don't get enough water,..anyway over the next few years, I am going to be enjoying this,...see what I come up with.
