Where I live, the temps can reach to 48°C (118°F) and the humidity is around %9. Some parts of the country like Al-Ahsa the temp can reach to 50c. Shit's worse than Arrakis and every summer in here takes something from you. Your kindness. Your energy. Your sense of wonder. Its difficult but I try to keep a positive mindset and count my blessings.

Now with the tobacco..
I usually plant the seeds in November and put them outside in containers around Christmas then I wait until mid March or before it reach 84f to harvest the leaves.
This time I was late. I got lazy and now I have to use a shade cloth for protection.

I'm growing Virginia from Zimbabwe sent to me by my friend in America. (I posted this image this on reddit)

This is how they look after a month or so. Now they are under double shade cloth. I used 9-2-2 npk, cow manure and volcanic soil from here to speed the growth.

I clipped some of the big leaves to help make the stem thicker and it worked. The wind also helped.

Some of them are wilting despite being under double shade cloth. Its 34c (93f) now, its surviving for now. I'll move to big containers soon.

I have to get an outdoor Humidifier or put buckets of waters around it. Low humidity is a b word.

The friend and the enemy.

Before I go I'd like to thank the people in this awesome community. I'v been a lurker for years and I pretty much learned everything there is to learn about tobacco from here.
Sorry for rambling. Stay safe :)

I moved them to a 5 gallon container.
Volcanic soil is too powerful. If they survive the heat, I'm expecting a high nic Virginia which is not what i'm looking for. I need to wrap this up asap
I'm running out of Burley and I need to grow more to use as a filler for my mini cigars and pipe blends.
