Hi everyone,
I'm Leon from Linyi, China — a city with a long history in the tobacco trade and agricultural machinery industry. Glad to finally join this community after lurking around and reading through some incredibly informative threads for a while.
A bit about me:

I've been involved in the import/export business for nearly 20 years, with a focus on tobacco-related products and agricultural equipment. Through my company, Dingheng Import & Export, I work primarily with clients across Southeast Asia — Vietnam, Thailand, and neighboring markets. I've seen firsthand how tobacco cultivation and processing techniques vary across regions, and I'm always fascinated by the craftsmanship that goes into quality whole leaf tobacco.
Why I'm here:

I joined this forum to learn from experienced growers, blenders, and enthusiasts. There's so much hands-on knowledge shared here — from curing techniques to variety comparisons — that you simply can't find in textbooks. I also hope to contribute what I can from the supply chain and trade perspective, especially regarding Asian tobacco markets and the equipment side of things.
I'm particularly interested in:
  • Different curing methods (flue-cured, air-cured, sun-cured)
  • Tobacco varieties and their regional characteristics
  • Processing equipment and technology
  • Market trends across different regions
Looking forward to connecting with all of you, learning from your experiences, and sharing what I know. Feel free to reach out — I'm always happy to chat about tobacco, trade, or anything in between.
Best regards,

Leon

Thanks for the warm welcome, Bob! I'll definitely check out the Index of Key Forum Threads — there's already so much to learn here. Looking forward to being part of the community and sharing what I can from the trade side of things.

Just checked out your website of Dingheng. Very interesting actually. I work for a company that grows tobacco in Connecticut commercially. Will shoot you a private message!
