Tried this, but my photo was 1.2mb, so too big - I guess I have to read this again to see if I must resize this in my computer (sadly) or if it can be done via the upload program. I guess Photobucket is always an option, as well.....

Many digital cameras come packaged with photo editing software to resize the GIANT photos that they create. There is also freely downloadable photo editing software that can be found by a simple Internet search.

Images that are 600 x 400 are ideal for the forum. These consume a tiny fraction of forum storage, compared to photos that have not been re-sized.

Not necessarily the same process with a Chromebook...not sure why. Seems before i can post a pic it has to be shared to Google first.

Lol, I would but it seems to change every time I try to post a pic. Maybe its just my memory going...if I can narrow it down , I sure will.

I take the memory card out of the camera and put it in the side card slot on the Chromebook(Toshiba) ,which automatically uploads and gives me the option to view it/them. They go to an album in Google Photos which I have in place for my grow...then I click on the individual pic and I have the option to share it to Google (in this case -"just friends" or , "my circles") Ok , so by this time I have opened FTT in another tab ,click the "Reply" or "Start a new thread" . Go back to my photo files , pick one , there is a "button" that looks like a [ on its side like a flat wide U. That opens a side bar which has "view on Google" toward the bottom right, I go to that and right click the pic and choose Copy Image...go to the FTT tab again and then Paste Image to the text panel field. continue on with adding photos or finish the text field and Enter when done. As many times as I have tried an easier method , this seems to be the only way it works for me.

Could somebody (anybody would do) explain, say, in a simple string of instructions, just how to post a photo/s at the head of a new post.
I have tried to utilise the 'Tutorial', promulgated at the head of this post but can't get past the difficulty of not being able to see just what is being shown.
I have managed to post a photo on a past occasion but can't remember the process.
Thanks.

First, go to your Settings page. Select General Settings. At the bottom, select Standard interface.

This will present a toolbar at the top of the edit window. It contains a photo icon. With your cursor at the desired location for your photo, click the photo icon, and provide a path to your image.

Now, if you click the Go Advanced button below the edit window, you can see the current status of your post, yet still scroll down to enter more content or edit what's there.

Your image will need to be a reasonable size (i.e. much smaller than most cameras or phones initially save). If it's too big, you will need to resize it.

What about from a new fangled device
Below the box where you write your message (I call it the dialog box), there is a button marked “Attach files” with a symbol of a paper clip at the bottom left of the dialog box. Click “Attach files”. You will have the option of taking a new picture from there that will be loaded into your dialog box, or Photo Library which will allow you to browse photos stored on your device. Click Photo Library and your photos will pull up. Click the photo you want and either select Done at the top right, or Choose Image Size at the bottom. Your photo will appear in the dialog box. Select Post Reply.

Edit: The above is from my iPad. On my Android phone, there is an extra step. You will need to click on the top left that looks like three horizontal lines to open your Photo Library.

Right click the photo. Click on "edit". A window will pull up. Look for and click on "resize". There will be two choices, percentage or pixels. Check the box beside "pixels". Then make the biggest of the two numbers 750, it will automatically change the other number. Click "OK". Then close the picture. You will be asked if you want to save the changes- Click "Save". The picture is now resized and can be uploaded to FTT.
On slightly different subject, is it possible to post videos on the forum?
