The link photo - post # 117 above has anyone gotten their how to CDs? Are they any good?

Nope, but he's cool, maybe a little hard to understand sometimes. I think his wife's accent is not as thick.

The "Nope" is this I did not get them or they are not good?
Go for the second one I won't talk cost, but looks good all over.. I whacked a few Cigars with my home made today gives me a nice cut. But however it is not perfect I end with a tiny tag on the bottom of the cigar. I found If I lift up on the cut scrap piece it removes it cleanly. But I am thinking of making a second blade / cutter with a reverse crescent it would be much easier to sharpen.

Hey brent see the way the molds are made in the #117 post link...They would be a bit trickier to make aye..any idea's. ..they way they fit into each other would take a bit of playing around with to get a jig right...i have noticed most professional molds are made this way ti have space to close put pressure on the cigar

Yes I agree Tod to make a mold like that would require more skill and a knowledge of set-up. I am sure this is the reason these molds had pieces and were not just one piece of wood.
I will try my hand at one of these a little down the road. Starting with a piece of wood I would cut my channel with the router and than using a jig remove the wood around it, again using
the router but with a different bit. After shaping the piece with the router I would remove the scrape using a table saw.
To make the jig I would use a layout tool to scribe my shape and than cut it out. You can get an idea of what I'm saying from the photo below..

The blue area is my jig...

To add I would use two jigs one to cut the channel for the cigar shape. It would position on top of the jig used to cut wood away from the cigar channel than removed. Allowing me to use the first jig to remove wood from around my cigar shape.
This would allow for routing of the mold piece with out moving it or the jig, reducing the risk of the jig being off when setting up to use the router.

I'll clean it up and oil where needed, replace the belt with one that is the right width (got a nice piece of leather in the garage I've been saving a long time) and put this thing to use this after noon.
At some point I'll make a work table this can drop into.

Here it is with the new Belt the leather was to thick so I had to get resourceful.
Yes Sir I was shocked the wife brought this box in I asked whats that and she said she didn't know. I thought must be the Tuck Cutter till I went to pick it up. They over nighted the thing just bought it yesterday.
Found a crack in the frame but it does not hurt it any and I see what Don was talking about with the adjustment you can make a wide range of ring sizes..

Thats so cool brent...you'll have your own production line going in no time. ..just imagine how many top brands were rolled on that in its lifetime. ..where do you adjust the ring size?

That looks pretty good Brent. What did you use ? It looks like that pull down drapes material.
Nope Not for Drapes it's drawer liner for tool boxes has some kind of fabric embedded in it and does not stretch. Stuff works great for this Lierberman belt next time I'm at Lowe's I'll buy another roll of it. Want to have some put away encase they stop selling it, stuff only cost about 8 bucks.

Maybe millions were made on this thing! I was just in the basement trying it out, had to get it adjusted for diameter and how much leaf to put in it. It will roll a Stogie pretty damn straight and real tight if you want it that way.
The adjustment is on the rod on the bottom where the belt fastens. It has a catch type cog on it so if turning one direction with a wrench it clicks and the belt is shortened (a thinner stogie). If you push the rod in the cog releases and the the belt can be stripped of the rod that winds it up. Giving you a longer belt for a fatter stogie, very cool little gadget. It works a charm I am glad I got it Tod with a little practice I'll pump Cigars out like I do my Cigarettes.

Got all my cheater tools now...
