@Ginsinjones A couple questions:

1-How are you bunching your filler?
2- Are you molding the dolls or wrapping with newspaper? No molding at all?

I do a sort of lazy tube method. It was burning absolutely perfect with thinner wrapper/binder. The draw is good.
Thicker and or least combustible leaves in the middle of the bunch.
I have no mold so I use paper strips if needed and let them sit in there for a while. Draw test again, then trim and wrap.
This morning I smoked one I rolled about 5 days ago with the Maduro wrapper. It burned much, much better and the veins were not nearly as pronounced.
It was maybe 26 to 28 ring x 5.5" and it took almost an hour to smoke

That’s good! I find rolling “entubado” helps. I like it conceptually as having air flow micro channels to help with the burn (haven’t had any issue yet on airflow or burn... knock on wood). However, have to be careful not to twist the tubes to prevent airflow.

My general thought process with wrapper is, the thinner it is, the less time I like to air dry it after wrapped. Just dries faster than a thicker cased wrapper. Also, I’ve found some thicker wrapper benefits from extra time out in the air before tossing in a ziplock with some 55% humidity packs to bring the humidity back up, while also keeping the RH below 60% for a short time to prevent mold.

I am no where near confident enough to plucking them out as I go. I'm very much a rookie at rolling
It’s not as difficult as it looks. If the leaf is moist, the top of the vein can be separated not easily but it’s not incredibly time consuming. Not all Maduro wrappers have large veins though and most can be worked out with a roller or doing as we are talking about. I’ve dealt with a number of large veins and it’s led me to try numerous rollers. A small wood roller is the very best, a rolling pin will work but it’s often harder to control. Next would be a phenolic resin or plastic roller. I bought a metal roller that’s used for wall paper but I don’t recommend it unless you have some way of smoothing out the ridges in it. The edges are also sharp enough that if you are successful in flattening the vein, you’ll also put what will become a tear line in the wrapper. I’ll experiment this evening and see how a disposable razor does.

I tried the disposable razor idea. It DOES have some effect on lowering the vein, although the difference is minimal.

It is tasty for sure. It is the only wrapper I have besides the beat up fragile Sumatra binder I have. For the most part I have gone back to using the Sumatra and seco filler leaves. No shortage of frustration around my rolling station lately thats for certain

I’ve had fits with that Ecuador Corona myself. Get it too wet and it makes a mess with the excess gum. Don’t get it wet enough you can’t stretch it enough to make it burn unless you go really light on the filler.
