That terrible luck! I see a sump pump, was there just more water than it could handle?

Yeah, water table raised 3 feet plus the builder of the basement didnt do his job right. About an hour north of me in Grand Rapids some areas are evacuated due to the massive flooding.
the sump here is running every 3 minutes, as water is still filling the basement, seeping up from the ground, through an old pipe and from a low area in the basement that's lower than the crock.

I hope it doesn't rain anymore. My brother has the problem with water last year. Basement was completely under water. Difficult times.
After the rain sun shines. Good luck.

The stream in back suggests you may get silt from high water now and then? My Dad's garden was like the and flooded every spring. I swear he could have grown bowling balls there if he'd had a mind to.

Sadly that's just a low spot at the base of that weeping willow, another 100 yards past that is another house and another yard. I do get a bit of run off though during the wet season. As you can see in the picture, the far right section is VERY dark, that was last years' plot, I expanded it quite a bit.

The soil really is quite rich, It's been a decent lawn since the 1930's when the house was built so hopefully it's got a decent amount of nutrients, the grass sure grew good there.

Well sadly friends, I still haven't gotten the plants in the ground, cold weather mixed with even more health issues has kicked it back to maybe this thursday if not later.

I was at work and managed to over tension my back, causing a vertebrae to pop out and tear a muscle along my spine (this was last friday, the night before my bachelors party ) I finally went into the urgent care yesterday after not being able to hardly move and had to get 2 shots in the spine and get strapped to a machine to straigten out my back.

Regardless, I'm on the road to recovery and am feeling noticeable better (or is that the medicine I was prescribed ?) Good to see all you folks doing well, happy growing.

Michi

Thanks for the well wishes guys, hopefully it'll heal up well. I got some painkillers that help real well :),

I also hope these plants grow well, I hated trimming off the roots from the bottom of the float trays :/

Glad you feeling better Mr Michibacy....... WOnder if you could modify the float tray with a guaze type peice over a bigger hole where they would come out easier without cutting?? I saw BigBonner's flat and wow! I would tear the tray apart i think before I woulda cut them babies :)

Sorry about not captioning the above pictures! the first one is from the back of the property, the second one you can see the plants, they look kinda poor, but not wilty, just sagging in the sun...

Air temperature is really misleading. So far this year we seldom got into the 80's but plants would wilt. It never dawned on me until I picked up my thermoprobe [which i use to temp oil tanks with at work] and promptly dropped it. It registered 115 deg F :)
It isnt air temp that wilts as much as temp on your leaf. If you had one of those radar type temperature checkers I bet it would shock us all what that leaf is being subjected to.
