Just air cure for now, No kilning.
I use it in snus, after a considerable resting time (longer than tobaccum) i get a berry like taste, quite plesant actually. Tho rediculusly strong on its own, and the texture isnt great(doesent stick together). I usually mix it with tubaccum at about 1/3 rustica to tubaccum... makes for a nice strong snus with good texture.
Have you tried sun curing it?
I'm doing this with Aztec and Lemonka, on my cars' dashboard (unpredictable daily wind and rain- no other choice).
It's been about 2 days, and the color is pretty good, and the smell seems improved (Green grass, rather than incontinent cat).

I got the idea from this thread

Sun curing works- these are the very green Aztec leaves that were flash drying on the stalk, browning (and stinking) in the box, after a week or so on my car dashboard, parked facing south. Mostly cloudy, never higher than 80F.
The smell is immature tobacco, no cat, etc.
(The bottom horizontal leaf is the one that was yellowing by itself)IMG_6567.jpeg

Big thanks to Alpine for the seeds!
These are Lemonka, 32 days after topping. Suckered the entire time, except the end plant, which was allowed to flower, to satisfy the old ladies in the neighborhood who wanted to see them (and me, who wanted to see the difference in flavor and nicotine levels). These will hopefully be mild flavored with good burn characteristics, so they can replace a Virginia glue cured leaf in a mix with Xanthi.

I got those seeds from @polygon55 , both Limonka and Sultan Albanian are well suited for cigarettes and easy to cure (compared to other rusticas of course) as are all the “yellow” rusticas like yellow 106 or yellow 109… and a few others I can’t remember now…

I haven't been able to find Sultan Albanian in his listings- have you got the page?
Lemonka ends up around 4-5% nicotine. And I'm sold as for it's smoothness and easy curing nature!
I managed to get an order from him a while ago- I got Pehlec 39/34, Prosechenskaya (Makorka No.8), Yurievskaya 96 (Juriewskaja 96)-
all varieties list as about 10% nicotine, with good raw material quality......Gotta wait till next spring- no space for an indoor grow.

I still have seeds, too (thanks to you!).
Just couldn’t get them planted- not enough space.
How/what do they taste like?

To my taste, Limonka and Sultan are almost indistinguishable when smoked in a cigarette, in the field Sultan usually has a couple of useable leaves more than Limonka, and the leaves are slightly bigger. Time from seed to harvest is the same, as is suckering.

They still need suckering, hanging upside down in my cellar!

Aztec update:
The leaves were very green, and started drying green on the stalk, then, in a box, so onto car dashboard it went, where they browned and lost the unpleasant smell.
2 weeks in the kiln, plus one month of rest,
And the result is an excellent cigarette filler!
I can only describe it as Avery mild dark tobacco flavor.
A 2-pack per day smoker was impressed by its smoothness, and then had to grab the wall for balance as he finished half the cigarette….
Should make excellent blends with orientals.
As chewing tobacco, it was strange. The effect took a long time to come on, but it did- it was strong, but curiously relaxing, with good , but mild flavor.
If only the yields were better!
