Count me in for one of those shredders if you get them in sometime soon. From what I've seen on this forum and elsewhere, this might be the closest I'll ever get to that shag cut I love so much. Not to mention the price is right.

Got word of this thing coming in soon. Can't remember who it was, but somebody on another forum told me when I mentioned looking for a new shredder. The one I have is nice for personal blends, but when making pounds, I think this one would be much better.

Any word on this thing coming along? I think we missed the mark on Christmas by just a bit, lol. I need something to shred my D&R Ramback into finer cuts.

We had to make quite a few modifications to meet some very particular guy's standards. The newest prototype has been sent and once that very fussy guy approves of the design, the order will be placed. Also, once the design is approved, the packaging can be designed. I wouldn't expect anything to be ready for the shelf until June.

Sorry, but this really fussy guy is a total PITA, but he's only striving for the best.

it's better to get it right than to change tooling after it is up and running. quick and dirty is not the way to do anything.

Luckily I know a girl that might disagree with that last part:D

Here's the newest prototype. I'm not sure if the production model will be made from machined parts (like this one) or cast pot metal. I don't have a lot of experience with manufacturing machines, but I think machined parts would be way too expensive.

This is the original 1930's German model

What is the pivoting swivel thingie on top of the thumb screw called? I have to make sure they put one on for the production models.

When I get this prototype, I'm going to hook up a drill motor, set it on slow speed, and run a mile of register paper through it. Anyone have any other ideas as how to test this shredder?

That's looking mighty impressive and sturdy.
I would call it a foot, like on a leg leveler.

mabe some pieces could be made out of extruded alunimum like the top and bottom middle pieces. i don't know if it is cost efective or not. probably not with i don't know what to say labor.
