Started from seeds shared by a friend Jeff (who introduced me to this fantastic forum!) Planted Comstock, Wisconsin 901, little Cuba, Adonis, and Habano 2000. Also planted a Habano variety from a seed pod I picked up at a local cigar event a couple years ago. All but the pod have sprouted. I've transplanted specimens feom 4 varieties into pots and have them outside now. The Habano 2000 is lagging behind the others and the Habano varietal from 1000044646.jpg1000044654.jpg1000044655.jpg1000044656.jpgthe pod sprouts, but dies.

Not sure if I'm doing this properly, didn't see a new post option. I'd like to look i to the future, and ask what anyone in tropical storm country does to protect the beautiful leaves?

I don't think there is much you can do for the tropical systems that occasionally come through. The typical Florida thunderstorm might blow some over given the sand we have here but tender foliage can take a beating. When luck fails, replant. At least we have a long growing season.

Thanks for that. I jumped the gun on putting some seedlings in pots and outdoors....seems to me I should have started seedlings in tray, maybe January. Potted plants have big leaves right now, but wilt in the sun, and my fault, short roots when I potted them.
