I saw those seeds he is selling and I honestly thought he was a son of yours . His user name is sonofdad2 , I thought it may have been a second son of yours selling seeds .I knoticed they were your pictures and the same seeds you have .

Isn't this site copyrite . He would have gotten the pictures from here or maybe that other site .I think you can complain to ebay about stolen picture .

Another consideration -- Is this person buying your seed, reducing quantities and reselling or perhaps selling your free seeds? It seems natural to me if he steals your pics he may also be stealing your product.

I just spent an informative/fun half hour browsing internet freedom, watermarking and such and have a couple of thoughts. Freedom has always had abusers. Restricting some things restricts other things. i.e. PIPA and SOPA. There will always be people quite willing to profit from other peoples work. Washington D.C is a glowing example. They produce nothing and consume vast resources accomplishing it.

So let's accept there will always be shysters and other thieves and work around or shoot them as necessity or whim dictates.

Someone needs to order seeds from this guy and find out his name . His name may give Bob a clue as to who the thief is .
After purchasing you will have all the sellers contact info .
Hand out his email and we will all have a turn at emailling him until he takes down the pictures or adds Deluxestogie water mark to them .

If this guy didn't use his own pictures I would almost say he is selling seed that may not be the same variety's advertised .

That would be quite a coup, since I don't sell my seed. Keep in mind that heirloom seed is available from multiple commercial sources, and since it is not an F1 hybrid, all you have to do is plant it, and, Voilà! you've got a quarter million new seeds per plant. I obtained all of my seed from somewhere (ARS-GRIN, New Hope Seed, NicotianaProject.net, Seedman, and a number of members of two different forums). Anybody can do that (except for ARS-GRIN these days).

I don't watermark my images, because it defaces the image. Legal pissing contests are for the young or the angry. Now, if I derived income from my photos, that would be a different story.

Perhaps, but I'm pretty impressed with the protective attitude from the general membership. I think we all feel a little violated because someone is messin' with your property.

I think we've gone full circle with this and honestly, if we keep going, we're probably going to do something irrational...(or at least I might), so let's just let it go and take it as a compliment that someone has acknowledged the good work Bob has done by stealing a copy of it.

Now if someone thinks they're going to cut and paste a book together using our information, that's another story.

Since sonofdad2 is doing this with tobacco, what about the rest of the seeds for sale in his store?
The type of tobacco seed for sale has an uncanny resemblance to something I have seen before (hmmmmmm, but where? )...... and is really pricey for the amount offered.
It would be easy to offer the same thing in triple the quantities for half the price. I don't mind someone making money, but no credit is given to others for their work and he is a borderline ripoff. $3.99 for 50 seeds? I saw 1,000 for $2.99..... both had free shipping.
