In my continued efforts to utilize burley in my cigar blends I wrapped a couple of bunches with burley red tips. Very difficult to flatten out those huge curly leaves! I rolled the veins with a rolling pin to flatten them as I sometimes do but this was the most difficult wrapper I’ve worked with. I also cut it down the middle to make two wrappers from one leaf.
Just curious if anyone has any insight on this. Any tips? What are some things you do with a particularly think and crinkly wrapper? Anyone use burley red tips as a wrapper before?
