If you need a humidor that size you should probably start gifting those cigars. Your grandchildren in their 80's will be gifting those cigars so they don't have to leave them in the will too. (Or go to jail because they have antique contraband) RFLMAO
Clever idea with the ball cages. You might want to tether them, so they don't blow over.

I was thinking about this. I'd be getting a straight jacket for my birthday. If I spent that much money to line that thing with Spanish cedar my wife would have it with me and me committed so she didn't have to deal with my crap anymore.....

I had grasshoppers invade my color curing mini greenhouse the other day. They were in there having a hay day! I thought I successfully harvested without any major bug damage and then find them in there eating everything! I've also put yellow leaves out on my shrubs to sun cure and it seems like it pulls out the grasshoppers! They can't resist it. At least in my area.

I moved the fridge so it faces east to relieve it of the afternoon sun. Then I built a nice screen to fit 1 door of that fridge so I can keep it closer to ambient temps/humidity made it so I can still close the door too. Then it started to rain on me so I had to pack up my tools.

Made a mistake. Is this reversible.
Mold showed after 12hrs. I caught it when I got home. Seems to be washing off easily with no spots left behind.

I have lightly misted leaf with 50% water/vinegar and it seemed to make it go away. I didn't notice a taste difference.
That is an odd pattern on yours, mine was mostly along the main stem and spread slightly to the lamina.
Washing cured leaf can wash away nicotine and flavor.

It seems it was a bad year as far as hoppers but overall it appears my harvest isn't awful. I'll get about 2 30qt buckets of whole leaves. Most are hoppers damaged beyond wrapper usable -might have 15 wrappers large enough and without holes. That just means they are more rare right? Lol

Been really busy this year and I'm not able to update as much. I was able to flue cure everything and minimize any mold. Anything that shows mold gets separated and treated then stored away from the main batch. Only had 3 leaves that had regrowth so far. I don't really have time to babysit my tubs, even rolling the leaves in the tub is tough sometimes. I didn't force age this year.
I did try an experiment though. I left 3 plants in the ground and they are currently frozen stiff. The leaves turned a nice brown but I'm going to wait until the ground is workable in the spring to harvest those 10+ leaves and see how they compare.
As soon as I get the leaves graded I'll start working them accordingly. Might be next fall though.
The glass door fridge is far more headache than I anticipated. It's very difficult to maintain constant temp.(due to the sun heating the chamber also.) I'm sure I could use the sun- need a temp controller on a vent. And it requires a VERY large crop to utilize effectively. It will not air cure. It needs higher air flow for that.

I got some nice suckers but only 10 plants. They aren't going to make it to flower as the frost should hit any day now. I'm going to cut the flower head early -today- so maybe the quality will still be decent.
