I'm not sure what your definition of profusion is but I see little sucker leaves on most of my plants
By profusion I mean that after topping, a sucker will begin to form at each leaf node. After you’ve plucked off each sucker at the base of every leaf, new suckers will appear in the same places and you will need to do it again, and maybe again. They snap right off, it’s a lot easier than fighting insects and you dont have to be religious about it, I’ve been lazy and let them get several inches high before I had a reason to go back through checking things and realize I better pull off suckers while I’m there.

Right above every leaf on the plant is a tiny bud. These little buds are called axillary meristems. At the top of the plant, the main growth point is the apical meristem. The apical meristem helps balance the plant hormones that keep the axillary meristems in check. When the plant is topped and the apical meristem is removed the axillary meristems kick in and start forming suckers. Stress can induce this as well and some varieties are just more likely to sucker even if the apical meristem is present.
If you are seeing what looks like two or three leaves starting above a regular leaf like in @Knucklehead pics earlier in this post you can just carefully pinch these off. In the very center of the little leaf cluster is the axillary meristem that is responsible for the growth of the sucker. A few small suckers here and there probably don't make a huge difference but some of them really take off in a hurry.

You can have some fun with suckers. Below are some pics of my extremely pot bound staghorns that I've been torturing, chopping, and letting suckers regrow for seed. They were started indoors on October 6 last year. I need to put them out of their misery soon;)

That’s just mean. Is that animal still alive in the third picture?
My dogs backside is in the 3rd picture and he's very alive although he doesn't smell like it sometimes:) As for the plant it is alive too. I took the pictures today.
I've heard it mentioned that suckers are a little lower quality for leaf but I was thinking they may have some usefulness for blending in with cigarettes, chewing tobacco, or possibly even a pipe mix. Have you ever tried?

OK. Some clarification.....
I took profusion to be synonymous with many in the context.
I had 2 points I was questioning.
1. Were they suckers( i had thought so). I did not want to be chopping new main leaves off all summer in ignorance. Thereby reducing my crop.

2. If they were suckers another document on growing said not to cut them until after blooming.
I was thinking of the "haircut" before transplanting and if maybe pruning these leaves have some positive effect on the stem.

I do believe they take energy from the main leaves that you are you most interested in. I haven’t seen the document stating to wait until topping, I assumed that was a commercial growers guide where they use the sucker control chemicals. They top the plant, then apply the chemical. I don’t use those those chemicals, I just pluck them off before they get tough and you have to wrestle with them to break them off. If you catch them while they are young and tender they just snap right off. If you wait too long it’s like breaking off a limb, which is actually the reality of it. The vast majority of my suckers usually occurs after topping although I have seen the odd ones come up prior to topping. I’m not sure if certain varieties are more prone to producing suckers before topping or if the weather has something to do with it. I just pluck them off while I’m out there giving the patch a look over.

Beautiful plants. I'm going to have to take back any derogatory comments I have made re the tires and bugs. Let's face it, if you have a house like that you're not gunna do anything to get evicted, anyway you have done a great job and must be pretty proud of your accomplishments, enjoy your grow when the time comes to use it however you do.

I am pretty happy with it. I owe a lot to you guys and your knowledge. I would have failed right away without your advice- and a few others. (The urea based fertilizer for one).

I know I saw on a forum here pictures of too much water and too little water. Darned if I can find it again.
I have found a few of the very bottom leaves starting to yellow on the bigger plants. They seem to be a little dry. I found one today that had yellowed and the end browned then dried out. I'm not sure if its not enough water or too much fertilizer. I'll get a picture soon.
