Avid pipe tobacco, cigar, and coffee fan. Learned of this vast storehouse of knowledge from another vast storehouse. I've no leaf or tools yet, just a mountain of interest and curiosity. Happy to be here.
Thank you!Welcome to the forum! What are your goals in joining? Do you want to grow, roll, blend?
AlrightI look forward vicariously experiencing your point of view of this lonely world of pipe tobacco bending.
Good advice I shall heed. Going to be real slow at this, however. For starting out on blending tobaccos, I recommend getting a sample packet of pipe tobaccos from this forum's sponsor so you have something to work with right away. 8 different varieties are included which gives you lots of opportunity to mix and match. Then maybe next growing season you can grow some of your own leaf and have a better idea of what you'd like to grow and how you want to cure/age it.
Tobacco is nothing to rush with. Patience is required. Aging tobacco without a kiln can take over a year. Aging with a kiln can reduce the time to a month or two. Regardless of method, the tobacco will continue to change in flavor/aroma over time, including the sample packet from WLT.Good advice I shall heed. Going to be real slow at this, however.
We discuss any variety of tobacco, as well as numerous approaches to growing, harvesting, curing, and finishing your crop. Our members will attempt to provide experience-based answers to your questions.
