Some that have had a little sun today, this is where I put them to get partial sun. I'm not sure if the lower floppy lower leaves are useless and should be removed to give give the upper part more chance for growth or keep them for photosynthesis. Most of them recover overnight but I'm not sure if they are "true leaves".20231221_141856.jpg

Latest update with plants getting sun most of the day in their final location after moving them around to shelter from several wind storms. Weather is more settled now but is unpredictable living between two islands and two oceans. Seem to growing outwards more than up at this stage.

Let's see...~40 pounds per bucket, times X buckets, times Y moves...

At least you're getting some healthy exercise.

I have a sack barrow with a leaky tyre but have to lift most them at some stage, as the sun shifts they'll be moved again. How often should I feed them with tomato liquid food please?

Hi, here I go again. We are still in a 5 month long wind storm and while I primed the lowest damaged leaves a couple of the other very green/unripe ones have been torn off, I go around the property and down the street to collect them most mornings. I have just hung these green ones up but I'm wondering if there's a better way, like lay them in the sun for a few hours or something.

Hi, even though they are only 1 1/2 feet tall my plants have produced some flower buds so I got in there with pruners and removed the most developed ones today. Have I taken enough off or should I cut lower?

Out of curiosity, what variety(s) are you growing? Where did you get your seeds from? Very crazy growth and finish within the matter of 3 months.

I top when 50% of the plants show at least one flower, then top them all.

Burly and Virginia, I got the seeds from an online auction. Most of them had been damaged in high winds so I removed them. Other lower ones had turned yellowish.

They went out mostly early December so only a couple of months growing outside. They have almost stopped producing at the top probably because they're thinking it's winter while we are supposed to be at the height of summer. Today we have strong cold winds from the Antarctic shelf and about 50° F.
