I use support sticks and pieces of string to tie the stems to the sticks. In my experience totally necessary with Aztec otherwise the plants will fall under even a moderate wind. Interestingly I hardy used them when growing Virginia. Anyway, it may help your plants to stay straight during high winds.

We had a bit of a rough spell on with our weather.
Below is a little map of the alerts. I'm in Santiago and we got a lot of rain and some good winds.
My Corojo x SS had previously tumbled over and bended growing upright a little away from the pot.
I had not bothered standing it upright earlier because it had already started growing upward again.
Actually, growing in pots, sometimes this is not a bad thing because it allows for more rain to fall into the pot.
Rather than the leafs blocking the rain and gliding it outside of the pot, everything will fall in.

However with the storm, the plant fell over again...
It now has a strange twisty bend in its stalk.
Not something I'm worries about although its going to be an annoying specimen to hang for stalk curing.

Ive never stalk cured before but, could you potentially cut the stalk in half where the bend is and cure it as 2 separate stalks?

Definitely some suckers growing from the stem that dropped horizontally but I have a strict sucker removing routine.
I think all in all I transplanted this Corojo x SS to superficially and that's why it fell over.
It's always a trade of when growing in containers to use the depth in the most efficient way.

You can definitely stalk cure half stalks, but it would mean I would need more space vertically below my stairs to hang.
I already feel I am going to run into space issues in that regard so won't split the stalks.

In the meantime a new thing has popped up. The management of the residential area has decided to re-do the paint job on the roofs.
That means the shared area needs to be clear of any obstacles, including containers with tobacco.
I plan to move everything to my balcony tomorrow morning.
The problem is that the balcony is a bit more limited in terms of sunlight hours because it's partially roofed.
Also going to need a few people to help me out because these containers are heavy and I have a rib injury.
Wish me luck!
