Well folks, it got mighty cold here lastnight. I was out on patrol and took a look at my exterior thermometer at around 3am. It was -14*F with a wind chill of around -8*F, currently in Lansing Michigan, it is 1*F with -12*F windchill.

Booger freezing cold, just saying.

Days like these I like the fact I can choose to work in the office, not the warehouse.

I Haven't deserted. I've been busy trying to get everything done before spring gets here and I get into tobacco. I still have stuff on my list that got put off from last summer. That and my crazy woman has been making me too nuts to want to do anything. And I got a new guitar. So I've been busy.

I don't surf.
How's the uh, farming? I don't know much about Alabama.

It's sidelined too. Waiting for spring. I did get in 115 trees I need to get in the ground pretty soon. I've been surfing the net so I guess I'm doing better than you at surfing. LOL

Ok, here we go... -15°f at my place, -30°f and colder other places. That's without the wind. Temps been around that all week. I don't mind so much, kills a lot of pests, diseases and viruses. Exposed skin will freeze in less than 10mins. Nice thing about my job is all the welding keeps me warm, kinda like sittin round a fire. Oh yeah, brought my brass monkey inside the other day so I don't gotta root round in the snow for it's "bells" lol.

It's so cold we had to chisel the dog off a lamp-post.

The on-board thermometer read 12 when I rode the KLR to the office yesterday morning. It read 17 when I tried to start it at three to run an errand. Battery was too weak to turn her over quick enough to start. All my bike batteries have reached that certain age at the same time. Bike batteries don't last long. Had to call the RedHead and get her to fetch jumper cables. Then her Durango would hardly turn over. That battery is also old as can be. I gotta run to the battery warehouse this weekend and spend a fortune.

But I can't complain. Winter has been swell up until now. I can remember about twelve or fifteen years ago, we had such ice storms that I had to chop ice off the bike ignition to get the key in. Had to whack a half inch ice off the car doors so the old lady could get out. Brutal. Riding to work with my boots sliding on the black ice for outriggers.

All in all, I think this Gorebull Warbling has been a real good idea, and they ought to have thought about it sooner. Makes you want to go out and burn some carbon, feed a cow some beans to make her fart, take the long way home in your SUV. All them Chicken Littles are full of shit -- climate changes -- and sometimes it's for the better.

But, today, it's so cold that you might see lawyers putting their hands in their own pockets.
