I just noticed the favicon.ico (that's the FTT icon that appears in users' browser bookmarks) still needs to be transferred to the new site.

I'll try to explain this again.

The program the forum was built on is no longer supported. This means it's a target for hackers who have no intent other than to somehow defraud you. In other words, it's like living in a really bad neighborhood with no locks on your doors or windows. You have two options...move to a safer neighborhood or buy locks for your doors and windows. Either way, your life will change...hopefully for the better.

I would like to add to that if you don't mind. I think some folks might not understand that for every website out there, a specific program has been used to build it. Just like Word or PowerPoint, but with the capability of creating what we expect to see on the internet, rather than just a document or slide show. Regular websites might be built with any number of competing programs. You've seen ads for them on TV, such as GoDaddy, Wix, and WordPress. You actually build the site using the program and usually once it's done, get "hosting" which is a service that places the website live on the internet. Your internet program, whether it's Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or whatever, then reads the files and displays them.

An incomplete website can be hosted. Likewise, a completed website (like this one) can be edited, and changed using the program that it was built with. The host will then put the changes on the internet. Forums are like this as well. They are built with a number of competing programs. The old FTT program is no longer being updated by the people who created it, so we've switched to a new one.

Did anyone use the mobile version of the site?

You would definitely love it, please find the screenshots below. The screen will get automatically resized depending on your screen resolution.

So...How do I post photos to my blog. I tried using the camera icon and then the insert image icon and I got a message back saying my file was too large. Do galleries have anything to do with posting images?

And...as I said yesterday, Aldous Huxley is at it again. (A literary joke...let see if anyone figures this one out.)

I'll give it a try:

This was inserted using the little photo icon, next to the smilie. You'll have to just figure out what size you can post. I can't locate any specifics.

My digital camera takes about 4 meg per picture. I guess that's the problem. So can I compress my images down to one meg? (I have no idea how to do this.)

Wes H.

I think I'll log off for now and go make some fresh bread out of wheat harvested last Friday.

Image size has been increased to 4.5 megs. We'll see how this works for now, but might have to make an adjustment depending on loading speed, so it might be a good idea for everyone to learn how to resize pictures on your phone.
Google your phone's make and model and it should be a pretty easy fix.

That's nice. Gifs really didn't work properly on vBulletin. Strikeouts (see post #30) also didn't work on vBulletin, even though they were supposed to.

But it's the Wild West out there in SSL land. The cost of a certificate can range from $4/yr to $600/yr, depending on whether or not you want window dressing (get rid of the "Not secure" attribute) or actual security (to prevent theft of usernames and passwords, etc.), along with periodic security scans. Most e-commerce packages (like the one used for WLT) have that already priced in. You also would need a to have a fixed IP address for FTT from the host, to get dependable security.

I honestly don't know that it's worth the cost just to appease the browser lords.

I just noticed that location now appears in the sidebar user profile. Thanks.
