Did you eat in your country that day similar meal?

I was working in Crete from 1991-1996 like a season worker from april till octobre. Mostly barman. wow.. That was real life...
And I like greek cuisine. For me much more pristine than Italian. I like both BTW, verrrry much.
I still have a taste in my mouth of grilled octopus, tzatziki, lamb chops, all kinds stifado, horiatiki, tiropites, spanako.....and fresh vegetable which is imposible to buy in shops these days.
I grow my own vegetable this days but sun on Crete is something diferent. Homemade tea with all those herbs and honey from the mountains,....unforgetable.
Kotosupa early in the morning with a peace of lemon...

In my country we have diferent cuisine. Between the mountains, cold winters....Sea is only for tourist...hahaha
also that day I don't realy remember what we eat but probably you are ortodoks and my country is catolic, so we have different habits...
But I cook a lot of greek food. Specialy in summer time.

Fried squid looks like saganaki shrimps and halva like feta cheese.

Greeks established colonies at the today's South Italy, those colonies called Magna Graecia.Among the religion,code dress,ethics,alphabet,music etc the Greeks transferred to the shepherds there what we call today "cuisine", don't forget that Gastronomy is a Greek word.Comes from Gaster [stomach] and Nomos [rule] and the first who wrote a relative book was a Greek named Archestratos.
In Creta for sure you will have taste the "Ntakos"
