I purchased this large, gourd pipe in 1972. The lathe-spun meerschaum bowl is nested into it using a thin, cork gasket at the rim of the calabash. I replaced that cork just a few years ago.

It smokes beautifully, and is a breeze to clean, since the bowl pops out. But it requires the full-time dedication of one hand. It's also a problem standing it. A small, wooden cigar box seems to be the most effective stand.

EDIT: I'm smoking Spanish Moss, which is one of my milder Latakia/Perique blends. My table cloth is a leaf of Black Mammon, from BigBonner.

New are very expensive, you can find an Estate in much lower price. Nevertheless are "one of a kind" pipes especially for Aromatics.
