Well judging by the amount of water standing in my garden and tobacco plot I'm probably goig to loose it all ! Last year i planted real high beds and could not get enough water ,this year i planted low beds and two Trop. depressions later I'm contemplating turning it all under and starting over with better drainage.

Get you a small sump pump and try that?

If not Bonner is having a good deal going on for Quantitys of plants.

I hope you don't lose them workhorse.

I hope you find a solution and your plants make it through. I always feel horrible when my plants die.

my area is flooded,

it's not effecting me, im on high ground, but ive seen pic's on facebook, of my womans '' friends'' [ i dont do f-book]

luckily after the last depression, i tied all my plants up,

i got 2 down right now,

not bad for as much rain we have gotten

and i must say,,,,for all the rain,{ and damn in my area it has been raining for 4-6 days straight]

my garden has not had any standing water in it,,,good drainage i guess,

,,,but it wont need a manual watering for a while, and i fertilized it with pure potash, 3 days before this rain started,,,

Well i've used my middlebuster to cut a drainage ditch from my garden to the road, and it looks like it's working. I'm probably moving around 100 gal. per min. hopefully no rain tomorrow and everything will be ok . If not then it's coming out and look out BigBonner cause here i come.

Come right on up anytime . Bring some clouds with you .

It is supposed to hit close to the 100 degree mark tomorrow . Today was great , about 80 degrees wind lightly blowing . But no rain in sight .
I need to take pictures . I would only hate to hear all the members laughing at a commercial grower's crop failing .

I always blame everything on my mother in law , She's in tight with the devil .

Those are words to live by around here!

You spread your crop around to numerous growers this year Bonner. We all owe you one for that.

I sure as hell hope some rain comes your way without the hail and flood.

I don't think I would laugh, only a fool would think farming is a quiet life. I don't think I could handle the stress of waiting for weeks on the weather.

A farmers life like this I am use to it . Farmers go through alot of good times and bad .
Drought on crops like tobacco, corn and hay . Wind blows it all down , rain drowns it or drought get your crops .
To top thing off I check my farm after every lightning storm . I have lost several head of cattle in past years .One pure bred Char Bull a second calf cow and two calves all in one strike .
What can you do ? Crying doesn't help , Cussing seems to help a little because that what I do .

I take my hat off to farmers, my Dad was born on hes family's farm along with hes 13 brothers and sisters in Ireland. Its hard work, for little or no appreciation, people these days think its an easy life water a few plants or feed some cattle and the money rolls in.

Farming is or at least was not an easy life...Best thing about it is what it has the potential to do for the kids who must learn how to work at 4 or 5 years old. If every child in the USA was raised on a working farm and taught responsibility and work at an early age, this country would be immeasurably better off.

I second that Ray, well my 3' tall plants are drooping pretty bad and i'm still moving water at about the same rate , but even if i get the standing water out of here the soil is still saturated and will take at least 5 days of 95* sunshine and no more rain ! Bigbonner do you think they can pull out of it ?
