Hi!
The sun had been hidden for several days, today it was shining again.
The little things seem healthy though growing slowly :


A week ago, I put apart four seedlings of each variety in larger pots ; I think I have commited two errors :
1- I haven't buried enough the little plants and these seem to have difficulties to keep standing (I've been surprised by the lenght of the tiny roots compared with the part appearing in surface).
2- I exposed it in direct sunlight too soon and two or three were seeming a bit affected so I replaced them.
After corrections, they look good :


Yesterday I moved four more of each variety in new pots, I tried to bury them more and I avoided direct sunlight :

Lookin good. This being my first year as well. I can't believe how slow tobacco is. At one point I'm probably going to wish they'd slow down but for now I am anxious to see them take off.

Yes, it goes slowly.
I let it work without worrying too much. The less I touch it, the less I risk disturbing it!
What helps me is that I have a human new born at home now, my son was born two months ago and occupies my mind well!

Congratulations (for the son and the tobacco)
When really small, if you germinate them inside your house (with little light from the sun), you may have to take care not to put the in full sun too much (if the sun is really hot).

And yes, it grows (tobacco and son) REAAAALLY slowwwwwly.... (at the beginning).
When they'll be a little big bigger, they will grow faster ! (tobacco and son too)

Thanks Charles! The boy is growing so fast already!! For the plants, I try to put them outside but in the shade of others vegetals, and those I transplanted recently, in the shade of a wall for more protection… it seems to be ok this way.

News :
It's growing slowly but well.
The first transplanted are dead or simply had stop growing, staying at the two false leaves stage, due to my bad burying operation, so I left them aside.

The second to be transplanted, two weeks ago, are well :


A few days ago, I moved again four of each variety into new pots, they are fine too :


Well, I ear a little human crying now, I have to go!

It is amazing how slow tobacco is in the early stages. They certainly are not a plant for someone in a hurry..lol. There looking good Youn. It won't be long and they will take off. Do you have these under a lamp or are you using sunshine?

Yes! Very slow! But since a week, they seem to evolve much faster.
No, no artificial light and since the misadventures with my first transplanted, I dare not leave them in full sun all the day, I place them under a large tree that slightly filters the light.
/ Hahahaha, yes, like the girls !! The sun is quite irregular but here it can already hit hard in March-April.

Disease!! First I noticed curled leaves on a Vuelta Abajo plant, then brown spots appeared.

Later, it also appeared on other plants of other varieties.

It may be Cucumber mosaic virus ?
Not knowing what to do, I removed the very damaged leaves.

Today I topped some plants of Vuelta Abajo - The slowest variety to start is the one that grew faster! Decidedly, the Vuelta Abajo does nothing like the others!!
