I got the back patch cut yesterday and filled the curein shed up.Im gonna clean the top shed and hang up thir instead of in the open shed.

Nextyear Im leaveen on the flower head a few weeks after it opens. I just cant keep up with the suckers. I think they take more from the plant than the flower head..

If you want seed you wait till the seed pods turn brown or almost brown. If they get too far along they will split and the seed will fall out. I wait till they start browning and then cut them off and put them in a brown paper bag till they finish drying. FYI The seeds are tiny.

You put a bud bag over the bud before the seed plant goes to flower. If it goes to flower first, it will get crossed with other varieties. To keep the strain pure, you bag it before it flowers. The bag is to keep out pollinating insects.

The Dawn didnt kill the afids so I went to the farm store and got Vegetables Plus. 10% Permethrin. $24 a quart. Ive used it before and it works well. I aint crasy about it but I hate afids. Thir on 3 or 4 plants and thats all I will spray with it ,an some stenk bugs on my squash. I think Ill keep it in the house so it dont get cold this winter.
