I got my soil test back today. That ain't my dirt I said to self.
Too good to be tru. What do you guys think.
I think I figured it out after researching all day why I have high k.
Sending in another test for chits and giggles any paying for a nitrogen test also.
I had my wife write out a check for a buck so they would fax it to me and they never did. Just mailed it SOB.

I got my second test back today, A little better and had a n nitrogen test done. Low like I would have guessed.
I am Looking for some input on a good N fertilizer to till in. I want to stay away from Urea from what I read it has the lowest yield for Baccy.

I've been reading about nitrogen this afternoon, and Nitrate and Ammoniacal N are great for float trays but my opinion is, that for soil, urea based N could be something to consider because of the low release and because it must covert its self to Nitrate N and that takes time , that will give you permanent rates of N that irrigation will not wash away.

That's all I have been doing also.
Baccy does not like urea tho. Yes it does work out in the field but not as well as others.
Here is a little article on it but I found it in a bunch of other places also.

Thank you for the input it is always welcome.

Looks like you need a bunch of poo also need to add potash and magnesium that would explain the smaller plants last year
Greg you are looking at there recommendations for my soil when it says 0 it is good, 80 for nitrogen is there recommendation due to that's what Baccy takes out. The chart on the top in blue is my test and I am high on both already.
I was confused reading the first one Also. Just figuring out how much nitrogen I need is making my head spin they say 80 pounds a acre. So I need about 40 pounds of what. 12-0-0, 24-0-0 ? I was thinking of going with calicum nitrate but that is 15.5-0-?. I am going down to the farm store on sat. And have them straighten me out. Them guys need a good Laugh.

As I see it about 1/2 recommend amount after transplanting and the rest a month later. You do not want to feed them right before harvest time. I am growing all flu cured this yr. except perique. And want to see how well it comes out of the chamber.

Ammonium Nitrate would cover you for Ammoniacal Nitrogen and Nitrate Nitrogen. You could also use Ammonium Sulfate which would give you Nitrogen and Sulfur.

They had no ammonium nitrate but had ammonium sulfate but that lowers the ph and the calcium nitrate raises the ph.
kind of a crap shot with a ph of 6.1. I am thinking using the calcium nitrate for the first feeding then the ammonium sulfate on the second application?

Rabbit Manure, you can probably get it for free. Just look on Craigslist to see who is selling rabbits and offer to shovel and haul it away for them.
That sounds like Work. I am a semi old fart with a bad back. I can get free horse crap loaded into my dump trailer but I am tired of all the weeds that grow from it. Now I got to find me a 3pt hitch fertilizer spreader with a automatic bag lifter and dumper.;)
