I'm jealous! Mines all muddied up and crooked. I'm taking a break from straitening up last nights mess. I'll post some pictures on mine tonight. I'm just a noob, I was all worried about even getting to harvest.

Well Chicken, I sure wish you would get that stuff cut and in the barn so I can relax. Won't be long now and it will all be in the bag. Punn intended. I think I am on more pins and needles over your crop this year than I am mine. I am nto holding out a lot of hope for my field. The soil out here is going to have to prove itself to me. I've been reading a few other grow logs and seeing where plants have been eaten off to the ground and still come back. So I am nto sure I will take a total loss but my pH of 8.2 has me concerned. My test grow in the shop did not do a lot to ease those concerns. Many reasons those plants may not have done well.

Chicken, is that your ottoman or bursa pushing 6' in that tropical garden?

yep.

the 2 tall rows, are ottoman, and bursa,

ive been topping them i dont want them any bigger,,,

soon the bagging will take place,

PLUS MY NEW FERTILIZER delivery job, is going to pay off big time,

today i '' aqquired'' a very high potash fertilizer, mixture,

im gonna give, a couple of plants a test run with the stuff,i figure, a small palm full per plant should be effeciant,,,

if i get the right fertilizer, my crop may jump out of the ground????

that chicken-manure does good, in the beginning life of the crop, but the plant eats the nutrients up quick{ noticed that last year]
so with the help of a '' mid-season'' additive, i may have a better sucess,

.. this fertilizer delivery gig,,, is so paying off right now,

my old truck-driving job, took me around in little circles all day, for weeks at a time,'' the same route''
this job, im doing some long distance hauling,,, i.e. tomorrow, i will go 300+ miles one way to make a delivery,.and using many routes, TO AVOID THE WEIGH STATION'', get back on the interstate ,,and then hit some back roads, to finally get to my destination,

DO I GET LOST< hell yeah, i aint got a clue as to where im at,,,, but the florida atlas comes in very handy,

Be sure to check the type of potash and by all means make sure their is no muriate of potash and chlorides.I dont recommend fertilizing on any thing that mature. From my bad experience last year I fertlized because of stunted growth during drought and screwed up big time. A sample plants experiment would be interesting. keep us posted.

yes im gonna experiment,

im gonna take a pic of the plant before/ and 2 weeks after the fertilization,

and no it's pure potash,,,,pure ammonium-nitrate, all the stuff i deliver is pure, they mix it, in individual hoppers to get a exact n.p.k.

for what the farmer is doing, more ammonium nitrate for a hay field,,, more potash for a peanut field,

i delivered to a orange grove today,,,,

perhaps i need to keep track of the n.p.k. for certain things i deliver to,????

i'll take some pics of my potash fertilizer,

im gonna do them very lightly, maybe 2 teaspoons, per plant,, distributed, all along the base,

You need to watch which type of potash that you put on tobacco ,Murate of potash or sulfate of potash .

This piece is from the link I provided . I think may be helpfull to home growers.

Potash fertilizer for tobacco is sold in a sulfate form, while potash for other crops is in a muriate form. Muriate of potash contains high levels of chlorine, which can drastically affect tobacco quality, causing it to retain water and hurting the burning qualities. However, it is cheaper than sulfate. It typically runs less than half the cost of sulfate, on a cost per pound of nutrient basis. There are legal restrictions on its use (no more than 50 lbs./Chlorine/acre/ season).
