I agree. I've always enjoyed that part.Depends on your leanings. I think life starts at conception. LOL
As you have already guessed it has a lot to do with soil temperature and your temperament. Tobacco plants tolerate cool temps but won't grow much in them. You have just planted and REALLY want to see growth NOW! It is tough advice but just be patient. Growth will come and with it all the problems and joys of our hobby. I can't wait till a few months down the road you will be bitching about "all the leaf" you have to harvest and then color curing. Hang in there bro. It'll happen before you know it.What's the setterling in period for tabbaco plant's once planted.I have at the moment planted out 310 plants 300 more to go. The first lot was planted 14 days ago were very yellow when planted out just starting to get abit of green to them now. Got a little bit of frost damage to some them but the centre tip still apear to be okay. The days are getting a little bit warmer but nights are still quite cold ground temperture still not warm enough i think that this is why they are takeing a little bit longer to get going.I would like to k
now from members of this forum there thoughts about this. Will post some picks once i get my camera up and going waited 5 days for new battery and still wont go.
Looks Great Colin. You're going to be busy as a one armed paper hanger come harvest time. I can just hear the moaning now. LOLView attachment 2159View attachment 2160View attachment 2161View attachment 2162 Well not having much fun with my new camera but here are some pictures of what i have been upto lately

It sure is but my question is what the hell are you going tto do with all the leaf you will have at harvest time? In an earlier post you showed your color curing space and as I remember it seemed adequate. Actually harvesting is going to be challenging. Do you plan to get a license and sell the stuff or what? Maybe you just smoke a lot. LOLJust finished three more rows this is the first lot of seed i got from deluxestogie .Last row planted is F L Sumatra the next two are Kelly Burley five more lots to go big job when you are doing it buy yourself Colin
You might want to check with Deluxstogie but it is my impression kilning just hastens an on going process. If you plan to hang it that long you may not have to kiln. Nice pics.I thought that if i had a go at this much on the first year i could colour cure it and put it away in storage. And then in two or three years time i could kiln it as required .The second year i could concentrate on verities i prefer. [THINK BIG]
