I think all of us would be happy to help someone to be chest deep in tobacco by Christmas. A green Christmas would be a cool thought.

You guys get to have all the fun!.. but seriously, are there any strains of tobacco that have been grown so long in NZ that you would consider them to be NZ strains?. If so, what are they?, if not what is typically planted?

That is an interesting question Jitter, I am sure there are some strains in the old tobacco growing areas like nelson, Though There is no commercial growing done here anymore, so its all imported, bloody stupid i know, I might have to spend some time today having a nosey around the net and see what's out there. I know a pipe maker up in the old tobacco belt and he might know someone who knows someone, if you know what i mean
Most of the tobacco i have seen online looks to me to be a golden Virginia also some burley but i havent been able to id it as my record keeping has been pretty crap:), But i do know there is more Rustica out there from me sending to who ever asks And i am sure there are others who keep a low profile doing it on the Quiet ,

Now John, he just wants enough space between the rows. That soil looks nice, and deep too! This is going to be fun to watch.
