I don't get the reported menthol, more "cedar-ish". Definitely a unique flavor. Out of some 30 toes I have grown now, in a blind taste test, silver river would stand out like a sore thumb, easily identifiable. The rest I could not name by flavor alone.

Did you taste any menthol? Some folks report that the variety has a bit of a menthol taste and aroma. It kinda turned me off to growing it.
DGBama is right. Absolutely no menthol, but a clear cedar flavor.
