hey, don't beat around the bush, what are you trying to say?
knucklehead it might mean hunglikehorse. I don't speak souix, just had a dog named lakota. Liked the dog so when she died I took the name.

As far as I know it is not really a word, just letters from your original name
Its a good thing the dog wasn't named Sue
I still think Alabama is the right name for knuckelhead .

Well fellers after careful consideration, soul searching, sleepless nights, and the sheer agony of having to think, I've decided to call the contest. The winner is: DRBOB!! The new name: Knucklehead. I appreciate everyone's participation and awe inspiring suggestions. Better luck next year. I've decided to make this an annual event.
Second place goes to Aaron for his unusual suggestion. He wins Don's Possum Cobbler Recipe. With Don's gracious permission it is submitted here:
1 possum
1 onion
1 clove garlic
clarified butter
olive oil (enough to brown meat without becoming dry)
1 cup dry red wine
flat or field mushroom, sliced (big meaty ones)
2 tablespoons fresh herbs (a mix of rosemary, thyme, marjoram, dill and parsley)
1 tablespoon tomato puree
1 cup dark beer, eg black mac,monteiths
1 cup brown possum stock
1 tablespoon marsala
You all deserve a nice round of applause:

you forgot the most important part of the possum recipe. Place the possum on an oak board and cook it in the oven for 2 1/2 hours in the oven on 350 degrees, or until fork tender. Then, throw the possum away and try to eat the board, it will taste better

Write it down somewhere. You can use it in the second annual contest next year.
"Knucks" is my permanent, reserved entry. One day you may see the wisdom. (But I ain't holding my breath.)
Just think:
Quick and easy to type (but everybody uses cut and paste)
Rhymes with but does not resemble sucks, ducks, lucks and *ucks (Sorry Don)
Has a zillion interpretations we can discuss/argue about endlessly
