Hi folks,
After picking the ripe leaf, is it possible to just go though the colour curing stage from slow yellowing to final browning, then allow to go into an extreamly low case and then store the leaf in this state for x number of months/years before then deciding to bring back into a high case and then ferment? I'm asking this because I'm going to grow 8 types of tobacco this year and although I will be able to colour cure everthing I'm not sure if I will have a fermenting chamber ready or that I will be able to ferment everthing straight away.

thanks, Lee

Sorry for the lack of any sort of entertaining elaboration, but the answer is yes.

ChinaVoodoo is boringly correct. Take your time.

On the other hand, if that languishing leaf can safely be allowed to go in and out of case naturally (without risking mold), it will continue to age while it twiddles its thumbs, and will then produce a more thorough fermentation, once you get to it. It doesn't age while completely dry, but does age whenever it has some available moisture.
