Hello dear friends.
Due to the fact that the weight of the leaves decreases during the fermentation process and the ratio c / n (carbon to nitrogen) is an important factor in the fermentation process and microbial activity. Can the amount and quality of fermentation be predicted by examining the leaf weight change index chart during the fermentation period?

Given that the hysteresis of your temperature controller set point is imprecise at best, and that humidity within a fermentation chamber varies dramatically with the temperature, AND that removal of leaf during a fermentation run for weighing is wholly impractical (and in itself would alter the temperature and moisture content of both the kiln and the leaf), I would say no to your question.

Kilning tobacco for fermentation is not a precision process. We have members who have built successful kilns for less than $50, and some for considerably more than $1000. My strong preference is for simple. A useful focus would be excellent kiln insulation and a good, gasket seal at the door. The simplest of digital temperature controllers will get the job done.
