Our power was off for two days after a storm and just came back on. I made coffee in an old percolator. The taste difference is amazing. Just like grandma used to make.

Alot better. The last time I used it was last winter, not this one, the one before. Our power grid is fried. If a blue jay farts close to power line, our power is out for two hours. If you get a thunder storm, it's out a half day to two or three days. This time was two. I grew up in Ga. and don't remember ever losing the freezer content's. I've been here 8 years and have lost 4 refrgerator and 8 freezers full of stuff. This time it was only ice cream and some veggies. The meat stayed hard. Our power goes out for two hours at a time during calm clear sun shiney days. What really pisses me off is I can see about 4 miles into Ga. from my porch and their power is always on. Same weather. I lost several more plants too, no light or heat and it got cold at night. Fortunately I had some more starts, just in case. I just finished replanting the empty cells. I got some 500 watt shop lights on them now, I think heat was the main problem. It's always several degrees cooler in the basement than upstairs, where the themostats are.

I got a used generator cheap a while back. It was worth the effort to convert it from propane to gasoline. Our grid is pretty stable but getting worse. The infrastructure is old and they are not putting $$$'s into maintenance.

I am kenya bold tea drinker, but pretty anal about how its made, You have to heat the pot or cup if using bags, And the water must be boiling when poured in . Then leave it to stew untill a spoon stands up. Then a splash of milk and 2 sugars.

Im the same, but with coffee, and ur not supposed to use boiling water with coffee,it burns it and changes the way it tastes,u need to just express the first bit of oils(about 30mls) a short black, then u add wat u like to that,if ya put to much water through(your perkulator, expresso machine etc)u end.up getting that bitter metallic taste, end up ruining it.u know a good short black oil extraction wen the coffee looks nice and creamy, even before u put cream or milk in,yumyum, mmmmm:p

Well let me throw in my 2 bits worth...

I drink the nescafe instant rich blend, it's quick and to the point. Add to that 3 heaping teaspoons of sugar and the same for coffee mate. That's what I drink at home. Sometimes I might add some honey instead of sugar but thats not often.

Our coffee place of choice is Tim hortons. You folks in the US might get timmys now that burgerking bought them out. When I'm ordering, I get a XL with 4 cream 5 sugar and they usually have to do a follow up confirmation "you did say 4 cream 5 sugar?" "Yep, I sure did".

Another past time here is to go through timmys at thanks giving and get a large coffee "gobble gobble" Translated "double double" for 2 cream 2 sugar and they always get the order right.

I make espresso using a Bialetti stove top espresso maker, add 1 cube cane sugar and a touch of coffee cream.

With just enough Bailey's non alcoholic creamer to keep from burning the tongue.

With a shot of brandy or whisky and a cream floater aka French or Irish, Otherwise real ground coffee goes down well with one sugar and cream.

Freshly brewed strong filter coffee ... using a good nutty medium roast bean (columbian normally)

Black with 1 sugar ... goes very well with snus in the morning!
