This one I'll call Mr. Ugly is 100% Dark Air been in the mini kiln leaf is dark and blackened here and there.
Gonna make more of these. If ya don't puff it goes out might last a long time...

That pic should be saved for posterity on ugliest but good cigar. It probably goes out because of extreme irregularitys in wrapper/wrapping.

I'm a Hap Hap Happy little Dude got some leaf today, wanted to open all the bags! Smell it, touch it, play with it. Oh it looks so promising but has to wait I made a mold today yep 10 spaces. Stogies will be a tad over 6"" long and about a 48 round took some head scratching to figure out a jig set-up for my Router. She has to layers one, the out side is Red Oak the inside is Poplure it has 6 butterfly 1/4 20 screws to tied her together and 2 locator pins. Thing should last 100 years, she's in the garage now the glue is drying. Also made two Chavetas a big one and a smaller one I torched em than blackened em with oil.
Tomorrow morning I got a little work to do than I will finish up the mold after that I'll be getting some practice in. Lord my habit just seems to grow....

What can take the place of Volado for burn qualities?

.. any low level leaves..lugs. etc..deluxe.stg or others may be able to get more specific on varieties. .its usually just mild flavour..with good combustion..just play around you may find a unusual flue type that is to your liking. .you never know

I'm looking forward to those pix. ... I like to take a leaf in a low/mid case and test the burn it with the lit end of a cigar.

Ok the Mold Pics - The cigar filler, Dominican Ligero, Dominican Seco, Dark Air - Binder is BB's Broad Leaf (nice) - and for Wrapper I used Criollo 98. The Wrapper was a bit dry should have added a little moisture.
Even managed a Cap but as you can see I need practice. I made only one I wanted to see how the mold would work and try to get a feel for this. Tomorrow I will do enough for the week.

Am going to make another one for skinny Cigars but will shape an old drill bit to boar the holes on a drill press.

Nice work man...nice rolling to for your first few..you'll be an old pro in no time..what jig set up did you go with..I've been thinking about making some for a while ...but haven't tried anything yet..did you use bits like these...

Yep that is what I used. The two pieces of wood I set side by side and clamped. For a straight cut and spacing I used a drywall square and cut the blade short. I drilled two holes in the blade of the square so one would be on one side of my center joint (you get this when the two pieces of wood you are working with are placed side by side) and the other hole on the other side than used screws to hold the square in place (the square is the router guide). I used 2"x2" Aluminum Angle for stops and fastened them to the table 2 and 3/8ths inches from the outer edge of my pieces of wood one stop on each side.

Hind sight is better than foresight after making this mold it occurred to me that I could have used my drill press and bored my holes for the cigars to rest in...
