Something is not quite right in the garden....

This spring I purchased 2 each of Peach, Apple, and Cherry trees. The peaches were both labeled the same variety (which is OK because they are self fertile). Both "peaches" have set fruit - hooray! However... I don't think they are both peaches as advertised.

Exhibit 1: Pretty sure this is a true peach. Light color, fuzzy skin.

Exhibit 2: Not a peach. Red color, smooth skin. Maybe a plum or nectarine?

If you cook red cabbage with some acid (vinegar) it will remain red. If your dish becomes too basic (used baking soda, etc) it will turn blue/green.

German Red Cabbage: 1 onion, 1 apple, 1 red cabbage, 1/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup vinegar, S&P to taste. Simmer for one hour. Delicious! Great with sausages, knoedel, rouladen, etc.

I saved your recipe, it sounds delicious. I also make saurkraut with it.

Arizona gardener with brussel sprouts, two different tomatoes, three different potatoes, three different lettuces, two different kales, green onions, cilantro, green bell and jalapeno, cayenne, tomatillos, swiss chard, and cucumber. In the opposite side of the brussels I have long red, dixie, virginia 12, and little dutch tobacco growing!

My attempt at home made soil blocks...made with some scrap 2" pvc and the handle end of a baseball bat! A bit cumbersome but effective enough...i hope! California wonder peppers sown 1 each...too much hassle thinning without destroying roots!

Interplanted about a dozen okra today amongst my cucumbers. I also have a 3fer butternut squash to stick somewhere and some sweet corn, green beans, and spaghetti squash seeds to plant. I figure on planting about a third each to stagger my harvests a bit with the 3 sisters! That way Im not overwhelmed and we can enjoy fresh for a longer period!

My potatoes got a head start on me. Any potato heads out there to give me some input on how to save them.
Put em in the ground, lol they look ready. I used to save a few seed potatoes in a styrofoam ice chest during winter, they would be ready plant in spring . I just did 5 lbs of red this year. There all starting to boom, I have hoed up extra dirt around stems twice so far.
