Talk about a freakin big leaf! This is my first contact with the PA Broadleaf oscuro:

I could sow my baby a dress with that flag ....

Penn. Oscuro, Fire Cured, and Ct. Broadleaf all has big leaves for cigar. Great looking cigars Waikiki!

I tried a broadleaf Puro today, and it was pleasantly smooth, chocolately, and mild-medium. More on the mild side. I wonder what it would be with an Penn. Oscuro wrapper? I'm open to suggestions here. I'm also thinking a whole leaf of Mata Fina or Cr. 98' Liguero would kick it up to a medium bodied smoke. Any thoughts?

Mahalo (thanks). Yeah, my first experience with any such leaf. Nice not to have to worry about running out of leaf on the roll. I really like the sound of the profile you mentioned, even the mildness part. The internal bits I have for this are pretty strong; hopefully the wrapper will mild things out a tad. Maybe I should roll a puro out of this leaf.... is there any way to edit these posts? I seem to have misspelled "sew" up there.

I enjoyed it enough to roll a few more. It takes longer to dry than thinner leaves. It may be a new blend for you?

@ArizonaDave

Thanks, I appreciate that a lot!

You're welcome!
Since you like smooth Cigars, Piloto Cubano Seco that should be in sometime soon, might be perfect for you. It's a smooth Cigar filler with a slight vanilla taste that blends down harsher cigar tobaccos. Oh, let me know what you think about the Ct. Broadleaf Puro?

@ArizonaDave

Thanks for the Piloto tip. Sounds like something I would like.

I'll let you know on the PA puro in about 6 weeks. ;)

@buck

Thanks a lot, buck. I'm working hard at it and try to improve every time I roll. I always restudy my favorite rolling videos before each bunching or rolling session and try to pick up on things the pros do that I hadn't noticed yet.

I rolled 12 more the other day, all are 54 gauge. I used CT Maduro and Dominican for wrappers. Fillers are a blend of dominican, honduran, or nicaraguan. Im really liking the new mold, I just wish I had some Shade leaf for the wrapper! The CT Maduro is indeed quite thick and veiny. I also gave them a box press, and they feel real good in the mouth. My pics are terrible, I need to get better at cigar photography - I swear they look better in real life! :eek:

Those look great CORoller55, and 54 ring too, nice size. See not long ago you were rolling your first sticks and were down about them...look at your improvement.
How are they smoking?
