That looks pretty good to me Bob. Some of my favorite smokes have been my scrap-gars - there's something truly fantastic about being able to roll and smoke immediately!

I took your advice and rolled less at once. Well, I didn't take your advice exactly, because I rolled two instead of one, but I think these are my best two yet. The little one was the first one I made - and it turned out very nice I think. I can't wait to smoke them, later this week.

Here's my blend on these, made up of leaf from the four different kits I've purchased from WLT so far:
1/2 Leaf Dominican Ligero
1 Leaf Habano Viso
1/2 Leaf Nicaraguan Habano Seco
1/2 Leaf Corojo Seco
Dominican Binder
Ecuador Maduro Wrapper

Nice blend ...I make some that are very close to that. Look great ,taste even better. I like to rest mine about 2 months after rolling. Seems the oils in the wrapper come out to the surface by then.

Thanks for the comments guys. It's very well appreciated.

Right now I'm lucky if my cigars last 2 weeks! But right nowe I'm much more focused on construction More than anything else. As my rolling skills develope, hopefully I'll get quicker so I can roll enough to let some age a bit.

If I have properly cased wrapper and binder, and my filler is stemmed, it takes me about 30 seconds to roll a decent cigar. That allows me to smoke even more of them immediately. Aging is what happens to my body if I have to wait days, weeks or months, before smoking my own cigars. I realize that some regard the smoking of un-rested cigars to be an uncouth practice, but I really like the feel, taste and aroma of a truly fresh cigar. Sometimes they are beautiful, but they get burned to ash with no greater reluctance.

I to can't get much of a stash of my hand rolls. I usually smoke them after only a 4 to 6 day rest to even out the moisture.
I just lit up a 1year old cigar I rolled last July and I had enjoyed the fresh ones from last year. The aged one developed a spiciness to it I didn't much care for.
I don't know where pepper came from either. If you think about it most of the tobacco Don has has already been aged for a few years.
This has been a bad week for me as I had 3 cigars with a real bad draw to them. I guess we all screw up now and then. I've tried re-rolling 2 of them with no better results.
On the bright side I smoked one of the best tasting cigars to date.
2 1/2-Pilotto seco
1 1/2- Pilotto viso
a few stripes of meta fina
Dbl Brazilian binder
San Andreas wrapper

Now to see if I can duplicate it. The next one never seems as good.

Sounds tasty, except for the San Andreas part, which makes me want to hurry out of the building. San Andreas is that gaping maw that swallowed LA and San Francisco. Too bad, as I really liked San Francisco, before it crumbled into the giant crack.

San Andres (can no longer accent the e, because of forum issues) is the leaf, from San Andres, Tuxtla, Mexico.

Smoking the larger of the two from last night. Burning fairly well - especially considering I had the wrapper cased pretty high/ I'm getting a good dose of pepper on the retro too, not something I enjoy a lot. I'll let the other one rest a couple days then give it another go.

Your right Bob  My bad
San Andes Maduro
I have grown to really like it as a wrapper.

Andes are a mountain range.
San Andres (think Saint Andrew) is the leaf, from San Andres, Tuxtla, Mexico.

Webmost,
The word, "Sticks," in this thread's title is used as a pure noun, rather than a verb form. Your last photo seems to use the word, "sticks" as a deformed gerundive--of an unpleasant encounter with a first responder. I may need to call up the grammar police.

So I decided to not wait a couple days on my last roll session cigar. I thought I detected a flavor I like a lot on the one I smoked last night and have been looking forward to trying it again all day. The first third wasn't that great - it had a lot of pepper/spice on the retro. But as I moved from the first to second third, the flavors really transitioned a lot. The best way I can describe it is that it has a similar profile to a Tatuaje Veracu. I had a small one a week or two ago and although the flavor isn't as pronounced, it's definately there, and very very pleasant.

Rolled another pair of cigars this evening. I accidentally changed the blend by putting a full leaf of the corojo seco in here instead of half a leaf. Looking forward to trying this one too!

The sticks are looking great Ron! This week has been crazy hell, but next week I really need to put in some work. They disappear way faster than I roll them

Thanks guys. I'm super happy with how my last 4 cigars have turned out. The advice to roll one smoke one got me to slow down and really think about my cigar construction and that has helped immensely.

I've also found that processing my leaf is what sucks up most of my time. I think that once I get a good process procedure down, and perhaps make some days just processing only, I'll be able to have more cigars on hand.

Yep great looking sticks Ron.
I'll agree, the processing takes the most interactive time.
I tend to process more than I intend to roll, to try to get a jump on the next rolling session.

I've noticed in many rolling videos, the roller doesn't seem to de-stem the leaves. They just fold and roll.
I haven't done that myself, but may entertain that on a session to see if I am just wasting, or if the stick is actually benefiting from me removing the stems.
Obviously it is needed on the wrapper, but I am talking filler.
