Next year they gonna be a lot less. I cant keep up with the suckers,worms and grass. To busy hangin and boxen. The late start and them bein planted at about the same time, along with the cool july and august has got me rethankin the big grow. Maybe the heater will help, if I can get whats left of the green out.

Im findin some mold on some midrib. Any thing that looks like mold or not good dry Im stripin the rib out. If I didn't have so much Id strip them all. Onley takes a few secs. a leaf.

What is your method ? Seems to take me forever to remove ribs.

In high case, on the face of the leaf pench the small end of the mid rib and pull down.

Leave a 1" or so of the midrib on the small end. My therm. stoped at 105degs. And the RH is 45% I may dry a few green but it needs a good dryin.

Thanksfor that! I have been starting at the big end and honestly it is a pita. Will try it later. Need to do another cigar.

I start on the little end of stem and break it a few inchs from tip. Then yank down on leaf and hold rest of stem steady with other hand. If good case it usually is a single strip and you are done.

I am certainly no expert. I've stripped about 10 pounds now and the description is essentially correct. But there is more to it. In my experience so far leaf is rarely in proper case to start at the tip and just strip the rib out. In general tho it works that way by bits and pieces depending on the leaf. Like anything else if you start with the basics and work at it you will get better and quicker. For me medium high case works best. Perhaps we can get BB to chime in here somewhere also.

Hey guys. Sorry for not talking here of the late. I been going through a lot.. in-between 3 deaths. And two near miss's and working at night. It's been rough. I am back now so. Just got sprouts on the silk leaf there about a 1/8 inch tall or half a mm. And got mead brewing to.

when i strip my leaf im not intrested in getting the whole leaf in one swipe, allthough totally possible,

i like to have my shredded leaf in small pieces, it seems to go thru better in my shredder,

allthough one long strip will go thru just fine,

I ran the heater almost all day yesterday and started it this morin. I want be able to keep it goin today but maybe it will lower the RH a little. the leaf was a lot dryer this morin than it has bein. My outside temps. will be goin up this week so I want have to use the heater as much. I have not seen any leaf dryin green.

John, you're interested in rapper and binder, so i'm betting you run your thumbs side by side down the midrib. Where they pull out a small piece of stem grab it in one hand, and the leaf in the other, then pinch and pull. It bunches up like an accordion.

I am certainly no expert. I've stripped about 10 pounds now and the description is essentially correct. But there is more to it. In my experience so far leaf is rarely in proper case to start at the tip and just strip the rib out. In general tho it works that way by bits and pieces depending on the leaf. I then grab the rib, near the top with the thumb and fingers of the right hand and start to pull down. With some leaf the veins are large enough you need to break them individually. With some leaf you can just keep pulling and the rib comes out clean. For me this is NOT common and I have to fuss a bit.

Your little tying vid worked just fine. I haven't lost a single leaf from the most recent hang.

You are absolutely right. For wrapper and binder I use scissors or my chevetta. For filler I am way less careful. For cigs I remove whatever I think will jam the shredder and let the rest rip.
