I was around back to the compost pile this morning and saw that many of the stumps from last year I dug up are sprouting nicely from what would have been suckers.

Is there a way to just replant and be months ahead of the game?

Would they grow tall again or just bush up like suckers seem to want to?

Yes, it will grow as long as the weather remains good for growing. Yes, it will most likely grow like a "typical" sucker will. Yes, you can have smokable results, but flavor might be less than the origional stalk. However, this is if the weather holds out long enough to get mature leaves.

I would take this as a chance to expirement with what this variety can withstand as a "mature" plant (has fully grown root system to rely on). At the worst, you'll be able to use your observations to determine how early you could push your growing season.

I'm interested in testing how much cold Onesucker can actually handle. My 7a growing area has yet to get beyond 32°F for an extended period. December should be at freezing, not 50°F in the daytime.
