Finally received permission from the condo board to activate my balcony holiday light display. The building actually prohibits hanging lights from the balcony but it's a give and take kind of thing. And since since I was enjoying what was the last decent day in Chicago...I broke out the Cuban, one of small collection of inherited cigars; they were stored dry for a year or ten, wrappers totally shot. But they're my favorite cigars, cheap, cheap or free, and today warranted a broken and battered Montecristo, started out as a #2 but I cut it down to #4, saved the tobacco for future rolling; nothing goes to waste.
It was good, had that creamy spicy flavor, burned a little funny missing parts of the wrapper. All in all, for an hour spent untangling holliday lights and sweeping off the bird crap, considering I didn't shell out $$ and it was my one and only Cuban this year, it was a nice treat.
Soooooo.... Happy Thanksgiving Day Everybody, Smoke'em if you got them, and take a moment to be thankful for whatever you have to smoke today. Remember, all around the world there are people who can't smoke a cigar, mainly those born before 2007 will never get to enjoy a cigar thanks to new laws being passed.
Cheers
